From what I’ve seen in the videos from Brazil? Do they know how small our venue is?” Humberto: “They know. They want to come anyway.” Me: “Entao… tudo bem.” Don’t you believe me? Then check it out for yourselves, for crying out loud: Easily TWO THOUSAND completely wild Brazilians in the pit and the band on a huge stage. Songs with 10 MILLION plays on Spotify. THAT’S their standard. And they’re coming to the EISEN. The SO36, where they’re playing the next day, has already sold a ton of tickets in advance. THIS. IS. GOING. TO. BE. WILD. ELECTRO BINGO!
Every now and then, when he’s not teaching in Amsterdam, HNO shows up at the EISEN in a outrageous costume with his bike under his arm, teases the audience in the most charming way possible, and plays bingo with us. For every drink you order, you get a bingo card. Every 20 minutes (or so), the bingo music signals the start of a new round. Some numbers are announced via a musical jingle that—surprise—includes a number. A few taunts at the audience later, someone shouts “BINGOOOO!”, comes up on stage, and receives a prize that’s pretty much completely pointless. Everyone else tears up their cards and throws them into the air with a collective, loud “ELECTROOOOO…. BINGO!!!”—much to the ever-growing delight of our janitor.
